Beyonce: An 'independent woman'

 Her group may be called Destiny's Child, but Beyonce Knowles has now exploded into an independent woman -- and a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood.After earning multiple Grammy awards and conquering the music world, Beyonce tried her hand at the big screen, playing Foxxy Cleopatra opposite Mike Myers in the summer hit "Austin Powers in Goldmember." The result: her feature film debut had the biggest opening weekend of any comedy in history.
I caught up with Beyonce on the set of her next film, called "The Fighting Temptations," to find out how she's handling her multimedia success. The answer was, very well; very well, indeed.
In fact, Beyonce says she has dreamed of being right where she is since grade school.
"I sang in my elementary school talent show, and the second I stepped on the stage, I transformed into something else. My parents were like, 'Who is that little girl? That's not Beyonce.' And I fell in love with performing."
Now, at the tender age of 21, she finds herself on the set of "The Fighting Temptations" performing opposite Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr., and says she likes acting as much as singing.
She's hoping to keep busy with both. "I'm planning on doing at least one movie a year, and putting out an album a year, and alternating between Destiny's Child and Beyonce records."
Not much time to rest, but there's no stopping when you're on a roll.
