Britney Building Prayer Room In New Home
Britney Spears is so devoted to her spirituality, she's devoting a whole room in her new mansion to prayer and meditation.
Britney was raised a Baptist and was recently introduced to the teachings of the Kabbalah by pal Madonna, is currently overseeing construction work on the Malibu, California, home she shares with her husband Kevin Federline.
The Toxic singer is making sure that her spiritual - and baby's - needs are provided for when her home is complete.
Britney writes on her website: "My mother and I are going to start talking about ideas this week for the baby's room. My mom is so gifted in decorating and I'm grateful to have her help.
"I've also been thinking of different ideas for the prayer room. Everything is going so well lately - it literally brings me to my knees."
Britney Spears: 'I'm Pregnant'
Britney has revealed what might be Hollywood's worst-kept secret: Britney is pregnant. In a posting on her Web site, Britney Spears told fans that she was expecting her first child.
"The time has finally come to share our wonderful news that we are expecting our first child together," Britney said. "There are reports that I was in the hospital this weekend, and Kevin and I just want everyone to know that all is well. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers."
The couple were married in September. Magazines and tabloids have speculated for weeks that Spears, 23, was pregnant, documenting her expanding waistline and fuller figure, but she remained mum on the subject.
However, Britney has previously expressed a desire to start a family. In an interview with People magazine last fall, she said: "I want to be a young mom. I can see us as parents."
While this will be Spears' first foray into parenthood, Federline, 27, has two children with his ex-girlfriend, actress Shar Jackson. Spears and Federline met last year when he was a backup dancer on her tour - and Jackson was pregnant with their son.
Spears wed Federline just eight months after ending a 55-hour Las Vegas marriage to her childhood friend, Jason Alexander. Her second marriage has provided endless fodder for tabloids, which have speculated that the union is in trouble - prompting an angry outburst from Spears on her Web site last month.
Yet the couple have hardly hid from the limelight - last week, the pair announced they would document their courtship in a new reality series on UPN. The network promised "exclusive, never-before-seen private home videos" of their "personal love story."
Spears' impending motherhood may be the ultimate indicator that the former teen princess is all grown up. Spears was cast as an innocent with a bit of sex appeal when she made her debut at 16 with the multiplatinum " ... Baby, One More Time" and became a youth icon. As she grew older, her image got sexier, and more vampish.
Her last album was a greatest hits collection, which has sold nearly 1 million copies.

Oscar organisers snub Britney
Britney Spears has reportedly been barred from the Oscars this weekend.
The pop babe is among a host of stars including Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson that organisers have snubbed in a bid to prevent the evening turning into a "downmarket scrum".
A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Britney would have wanted her entourage with her but the Academy wanted to keep things as tight and as highbrow as possible.
"They plan to focus on those people who have worked in the film industry for years - not people who are merely celebrities in other areas."
But sources say the decision to ban certain stars is down to the fact that Hollywood's Kodak theatre holds less than half the capacity of previous venue, the Shrine Auditorium and claim that even high-profile stars are struggling to secure tickets for Sunday's event.
Insiders have revealed that Destiny's Child star, Beyonce Knowles, who is performing at the movie ceremony, may attend the show alone after failing to arrange entry for fiancé Jay-Z.
The source added: "The Academy gets inundated with begging requests for tickets a year before the event.
"The Kodak theatre can't take more than 3 500 guests. Even Beyonce's boyfriend hasn't even received an invite."
Britney Spears is being sued by a scriptwriter.
Christopher Merrill claims he came up for the idea for Spears' debut teen drama Crossroads, reports the Splash news agency.
He claims there are 'shocking similarities' between the movie and his script for 'Dream Alive'.
Mr Merrill has launched a multi-million dollar lawsuit in Los Angeles, California.
And as we stay on the Britney subject, pop star Cher says Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez are "hoes".
According to Concert.com.au the star made her claim to fans at a concert in New Zealand.
Cher was explaining her decision to quit touring when she told the audience: "I'm not going to give up show business, but there are new girls coming up like Britney and J-Lo."
After the crowd heckled the mention of Jennifer and Britney Cher said: "I know. They are hoes, aren't they?"
Britney Spears on the Offensive Against Celebrity Magazine
n the dynamic that exists between gossip magazines and celebrities, each party has a particular role: the magazines dish and the celebrities try to dodge. Last week saw a bit of a role reversal when, in an interview in the March issue of Details magazine, the pop star Britney Spears referred to Jann Wenner, the publisher of US Weekly, as a "big old fat man."
The story would end there if not for the fact the Mr. Wenner - who at 59 is neither fat nor that old - is also the founder and editor in chief of the influential music magazine Rolling Stone, making him someone that few in the music business are likely to publicly insult.
Ms. Spears, who has since declined to comment, has been the subject of a string of embarrassing articles that US Weekly has published over the last year, including one last April concerning the pregnant fiancée of Kevin Federline, then her boyfriend and now her husband. Adding fuel to the fire, a recent issue of US Weekly featured pictures that the magazine purchased of Ms. Spears and Mr. Federline on their honeymoon.
Daniel Peres, the editor of Details, who conducted the interview, said he was specifically asked by Ms. Spears and Mr. Federline not to work with US Weekly in promoting this current issue of Details.
"The more I learn of this relationship between the Federlines and US Weekly, the more I think Britney knew exactly what she was doing. It's a brave thing to do for any music artist to say anything against Jann Wenner," said Mr. Peres.
A spokesperson for Wenner Media, which owns US Weekly and Rolling Stone, said that Ms. Spears' comments would not affect whether she is put on the front of either magazine in the future.
Since 1999, Ms. Spears has been on the US Weekly cover 14 times, and on the Rolling Stone cover 6 times. Mr. Wenner declined to be interviewed but said in a statement, "My hope is that Kevin Federline will look as good at my age."
